Read The Fine Print When Choosing 0% Interest Credit Cards

by: Bob Hett

Credit cards-are they the bane of our existence or the wave of the future? No matter how you view them, credit cards are here to stay. With the seemingly endless variety of cards available from any number of financial institutions, the market for your credit card business is extremely competitive. Many credit card companies try to entice the average consumer with 0% interest credit cards. The offer looks great on the surface, but it is vital that you read the fine print when considering one or several of these offers.

In addition to the 0% interest rate, credit card companies offer many other perks, as well. The offer 0% on balance transfers, which can include other credit card debt, and even other types of debt, such as appliance loans or something similar. Many companies offer some kind of points program that awards you points for every dollar you spend and you can use them toward travel costs such as airline flights and hotel accommodations. Still others offer cash back percentage on all your spending, with higher rates for spending at grocery stores, drug stores and gas stations. Some even offer money towards a specific purchase, such as the GM card, which you can earn money towards a new GM vehicle purchase. Nearly every card offers zero fraud liability if your card is lost or stolen, and many offer other incentives like low annual percentage rates (APR) and no annual fees. Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and all the rest are jumping on this bandwagon to get their piece of your business.

However, it is important to look before you leap. Most of these 0% interest rate incentives only last for six to twelve months. It is imperative that you look at what your regular APR will be after the promotion period is over. The rate can be a variable rate that changes or a fixed rate, which can also change at the whim of the credit card company as long as they notify you in writing thirty days in advance. Also, if you make a late payment, it can negate the whole incentive and revert immediately to the regular APR. All that fine print in the little brochure that arrives with your offer should be read thoroughly before signing the credit agreement.

So, while a 0% interest credit card may look good at first glance, it is important to do your homework on any credit card offer you are considering. It is also a good idea to remember that it is easy to get into some serious debt very quickly with credit cards. Credit cards make spending money easy, but if you are not disciplined about your credit card use, you can get in over your head. Also, if you can?t afford to pay more than the minimum payment, it can take you decades to pay it off, and the whole time the credit card company is making a fortune off of you. It is always a good idea to be in charge of your money, not let your money (and debt!) be in charge of your life.

About The Author

Bob Hett offers great tips and advice regarding all aspects concerning Credit Cards.
4 Reasons You Should Make WebConferencing Part of Your Business Today:

by: Richard Martin

1)It is cheap. The prices on webconferencing services have come way down in recent years. What used to cost literally hundreds of dollars has since deflated down to extremely affordable prices. Snoop around the web and you will find that decent webconferencing services can be had for as little as $20 per month. Buyer beware should be the rule as usual but this stuff isn't only for $100 million dollar businesses anymore.

2)The productivity boom. Webconferencing can drive your business to be more productive. No doubt. More than half of my day used to be wasted going to and from meetings. Cutting out just 15% of travel time can make a huge difference. Wouldn't you rather be doing something else besides waiting to go to meetings? Webconferencing can significantly cut down on your wasted time and can help your business become more profitable also.

3)The technology is there. The technology has piggybacked the broadband revolution. What used to be choppy video in a 3 inch by 4 inch square has turned fully interactive, multiuser, and full screen. Webconferencing is big, stable, and enjoyable. This part of the internet has come a long way since 1999.

4)Webconferencing is good for environment. Another bonus is that webconferencing allows you to save commuting time and therefore we use less fossil fuels. Everyone could deal with less global warming. The computer time used to webconference must be amortized in here somewhere as making and running a computer isn't exactly fantastic for the environment. However, the few hours it takes to webconference surely outweigh the environmental damage that 5 people running their cars does to our planet.

Check out webconferencing. You'll be amazed how far it's come and how far you could go with it?

About The Author

Richard Martin is a contributing writer at http://www.LegalClips.com. LegalClips.com has Vioxx and injury lawyer articles.

Tips for Using Business Credit Cards

by: Morgan Hamilton

Business credit cards are some of the most popular. With more and more companies needing credit cards for their day to day operation, they are turning to credit cards that cater specifically to businesses. Business credit cards are perfect for the small or large business owner. They are a great way to get business discounts and deals. Business credit cards also offer reward programs and introductory offers. When choosing and using business credit cards, think about the advantages below and spend wisely.

Interest Rates

Most business credit cards carry low interest rates. This is mostly due to the fact that businesses have great credit and carry little risk to credit card companies. Therefore, you should never apply for business credit cards with high interest rates. Normal interest rates for business credit cards fall between 9% and 15%. Shop around for the best rates, especially if you keep high balances.

Credit Lines

Business credit cards usually carry much higher credit lines than the average credit card. With something like a business seen as collateral, credit card companies can afford to offer high credit lines. If you need a high credit line for day to day business, consider a business credit card.

Discounts

Some business credit cards offer discounts at other businesses. For example, some business credit cards will give you up to 10% when you use them at office supply stores, gas stations, airports, or flower companies. The list will vary with each individual card, so be sure to check it out. This is a great way for you to save money as well as get things you already need.

Employee Cards

If you are an owner or manager of a business, you should look for business credit cards that allow you to give your employees cards. This is best for large businesses. With the best business credit cards, you can set different limits for each employee based on their individual needs. This allows you to be in control of any spending that comes through on any business credit cards each month.

Rewards

Business credit cards usually have rewards programs that cater to the business lifestyle. For instance, many business credit cards have flight points reward systems. These allow you to accumulate a certain amount of points per purchase and redeem them for flight fares. These are a great way to pay for an extra flight a year. With flights being so expensive, you can bet this perk of the business credit cards comes in handy. By using your business credit cards often and paying the balances on time, you can get a lot back from your purchases. With business discounts alone, you can save your company a bundle. Also, the rewards programs always add up the end, especially with business credit cards. So, be sure to choose a fitting card and start using it today!

About The Author

Morgan Hamilton offers expert advice and great tips regarding all aspects concerning Credit Cards.

Get the information you are seeking now by visiting http://www.Find-Cards-Now.com.

Cheap And Easy Party Food - Throw A Great Party Without Spending A Fortune

by: Angela Tyler

If you are planning a party, you already know that food can be one of your biggest expenses. However, you can take several steps to cut your party food costs. It is not necessary to purchase expensive appetizers and beverages to throw a great party. A little imagination and effort can make your party a memorable occasion.

Here are some ideas and suggestions to help you save money on food when throwing your next party:

Have a potluck

A potluck is certainly cheaper than hiring a caterer and you will save a lot of time and money by having your guests prepare a dish to share with others. Potluck is fun and you will surely end up with an interesting assortment of foods. To make things simpler, include a suggestion as to what type of dish you would like your guests to bring such as a dessert, vegetable, or salad.

Finger foods are fun

Small sandwiches, chips, dips, and vegetable trays are relatively inexpensive and you won't need to bother with place settings and bringing out your best china. Simply supply napkins and small paper plates and allow your guests to serve themselves from an assortment of bite size goodies.

Back to basics

Fruit and cheese are excellent choices for casual party foods that don't require fancy place settings or dishes. Buy fresh fruit in season when you are likely to find certain varieties on sale and fill your table will a variety of cheeses, crackers, and perhaps olives and nuts.

Go Italian

If your party will be a dinner party where fingers foods are not appropriate, you can try spaghetti with garlic bread and salad, or you could find a good deal on pizza that you can have delivered. You will save time and it is quite easy to find a bargain on different types of pizza.

Thrifty Thirst Quenchers

For party beverages, two-liter soft drinks and bottled water are inexpensive and very easy to serve. Provide ice and cups and allow your guests to serve themselves. Tea and coffee are cheap as is lemonade that you make fresh or from concentrate.

Your party does not have to cost a lot of money to be a huge success. Look for sales on the foods and beverages you choose and plan ahead so you will have time to shop around be fore you buy.

About The Author

Angela Tyler

Visit http://www.homeorganizationhelp.com for more ways to decorate your home quickly and easily, and http://www.freequickrecipes.com for delicious meal ideas.

Compatible And Remanufactured Cartridges

by: Kwan Lo

The sales of OEM cartridges have been major revenue for printer manufacturers for many years. This pattern is changing recently. Despite the steep drop of printer price, the price of OEM cartridges remains remarkably high. Many consumers are fed up with expensive OEM cartridges and look for cheap alternatives. As a result, compatible cartridges and remanufactured cartridges are becoming more popular than ever before.

Compatible cartridges are also known as generic cartridges. They are like the generic drugs in pharmaceutical industry. Compatible cartridges are made by third-party manufacturers. They follow the same specification of OEM cartridges but are offered at one-half to one-third of the price of OEM cartridges. This gives them a distinctive advantage for bargain-hunting consumers.

Remanufactured cartridges are OEM cartridges which have been through one cycle of service. They are disassembled, cleaned, repaired and refilled before they are released to the market again. Remanufactured cartridges save landfill space and extra resources to produce new cartridges. These replacement cartridges are very popular among environmentally concerned consumers.

With compatible cartridges and remanufactured cartridges taking up market share, printer manufacturers are working hard to protect their profits. Some manufacturers have incorporated smart chips into their cartridges, making it difficult or impossible to refill the printer cartridges or to use compatible and remanufactured cartridges from third-party manufacturers.

On the other hand, third-party manufacturers are capable of overcoming this by providing 100% compatible printer cartridges with new replacement chips. Some companies also offer smart chip resetter or refilling services to their customers.

In conclusion, compatible and remanufactured cartridges are viable choice to cut printing cost. However, consumers should be careful when shopping for cheap printer cartridges. In addition to low price, they should compare the quality and compatibility of the printer cartridges. It is also prudent to shop with merchants who offer good customer support and extended warranty.

About The Author

Kwan Lo is the owner of http://inkjets.4reviews.net, an online review site promoting top quality printer cartridges at discount price.

Sticking to a Gift Budget at Christmastime

by: Stephanie Foster

The Christmas season is upon us, and with it one of the most difficult times to stick on a budget. It?s so easy to go overboard on gifts for those you love. There?s always some cute, cheap item that is just perfect, but when you find things like that over and over, they really add up.

It?s no fun being on a tight budget at this time of year. You wish you could give your kids the gifts they want the most, and give other family members just the right gift too.

There are several ways to give well thought out gifts at this time of year without overdoing it on credit cards or adding to your financial worries. All it takes is a little planning and creativity. Here are a few ideas.

Draw names.

You?ll still have to do the shopping for your kids, of course, but getting together with your siblings or other family members and drawing names can save a lot of money, as well as shopping time. This also allows a single, nicer gift to be given, as you can agree beforehand what should be spent on each person, and have it be a gift from all of you.

Give your time.

Make up coupons with favors you will do for the other person. This could be mowing the lawn for your parents or giving your husband a backrub. It could be babysitting a friend?s kids.

Share your talents.

If there?s something you do well that others have been expressing an interest in learning, give them a card saying you will teach them. This could be music lessons or it could be website design or organizing their home.

Note cards and stamped envelopes.

These are perfect for the person who loves to write. Find an attractive set and get some stamps, and you?re ready to go. You could even take this a step further and create your own design on plain cards.

Family calendar.

This one takes a fair bit of time, and you?ll need other family members to send you pictures, but makes a great gift. If they give you prints, you can make a collage, but if the photos are digital you can manipulate them for a wonderfully fun family calendar. Take the results to your local print shop and have them make them into calendars.

Make picture frames.

Get a cheap picture frame and decorate it with things that the recipient enjoys.

Bake!

Homemade treats are often welcome. If you have a great pie, cake or cookie recipe, you can be sure people will thank you even if they grumble something about calories.

Make Christmas ornaments.

There are all kinds of ideas for beautiful Christmas ornaments. You can buy the cheap clear glass balls and fill them or paint them. Another idea is to take a clear jar or vase, and put in some Christmas lights, then add potpourri. It looks beautiful when plugged in and smells great.

Make gift baskets or jars.

This doesn?t have to mean cheesy, handmade stuff that you really don?t do normally. You can make gift baskets with special items inside, such as bath salts and other items good for relaxation. You can print a card with a special recipe and include the ingredients in a jar.

The possibilities here are just about endless, both in terms of affordability and creativity. Think about the recipient?s hobbies and put something together that relates; garden gloves with a plant or seeds for a gardener, gourmet coffee with a cup for the coffee lover, and so forth.

You don?t have to go overboard with gifts to have a wonderful Christmas. A little planning goes a long way toward easing the financial strain that so many feel at this time of year. Getting creative with Christmas presents doesn?t only save money ? it makes the gifts more meaningful!

About The Author

Stephanie Foster is the owner of HomeWithTheKids.com, a resource for at-home parents.
Eye on the Prize

by: Dave Roggeman

?The daily grind.? ?Back to the salt mines.? ?Another day another dollar.? ?Thank god it's Friday.? These are all phrases of the working world with 9 to 5 jobs. For some, this situation works. Others feel trapped, as if all the work they do only benefits others. There?s a reason these phrases came about. There are millions of people who would rather be doing anything other than working. If people loved their jobs, these phrases would be more like "The daily party", "Back to my dream", and "I can't wait till Monday!"

Is there a way for you to sing the latter phrases? Yes there is, but it takes hard work, determination, and focus.

Where would you like to be in say twenty years? Do you see yourself in an office job working for a large corporation where you work hard for someone else?

Starting your own business is one of the ways to get out of the daily march through work where all you can do is wait for the clock to spin ahead 8 hours. When you are working for your own growth and benefit, it suddenly doesn't seem like so much work. I recently spent 5 straight hours working on my web site, adding content, checking links, researching key words. When those 5 hours were up, it felt like I had been there for only 30 minutes. This gives new meaning to, "Time flies when you're having fun?.

Now I know that starting your own business sounds like quite a daunting task right? Well, it?s a lot easier than you think.

The key is to find something that you love, something that interests you. Something that you want to learn more about or will have long term affect on your life. Sometimes finding the right product or service, one that you believe in and love, can be tough. Other times it will be staring you right in the face. However long it takes, find it!

Once you find that one thing, find a way to sell it. In this day and age, a website can be had for low cost. There are many hosting companies out there that range in price from free to cheap to expensive. Be careful which one you go with. The free web hosting services will probably require you to have some advertising on your site. The cheap services may not have all the bells and whistles that the expensive services offer. Whichever one you go with, do some research before hand and make sure that you are comfortable with them.

There are some services that will pay you a commission for referring someone to that hosting company. This is just one of the many types of affiliate programs on the internet that you can get involved with. Find that product or service that suits you. Something that you have profound interest in.

The next step is to define your goals. What is it that you want to accomplish? How are you going to get there? What will you need to fulfill your goals? What steps can you take right now to get closer to your goal? What steps do you need to take to accomplish some of your more complex tasks?

Create a plan with the answers to those questions and? get out there and do it! Start with tasks you can do easily just to get you started. Work up to your more complex tasks. If you get stuck, and you will more than likely get stuck, do some research about your problem. There are many resources on the internet about HTML, affiliate marketing, web site hosting, and any other information you will need. Use Google, Excite, or Yahoo to find information about the subjects you need help with.
Fair Value with Negative Growth

by: Hari Wibowo

Our investing journey revolves around finding the fair value of a common stock. You can invest in companies that grow rapidly and lose money. On the other hand, you can also invest in companies in a declining industry, yet you can still make money. Investing profitably does not merely depend on what you invest in, but rather how much you pay for a given company.

Therefore, let's look at company with negative earning growth. How do we value them? For a 0% growth company, P/E ratio for the fair value is 13.4, which is equal to 7.45% return year in and year out. For negative growth company, P/E ratio should be lower of course, since it is giving less and less as the year goes by.

Let's try valuing negative growth with the following assumption. EPS growth is negative ten percent for the next five years and then stay constant. EPS for the current year is $ 1.00. So, after five years, EPS will come in at $ 0.59. Now, this is the constant $ 0.59 that we will get five years from now. The value of that cash flow today assuming 4.5% discounting rate is $ 0.47. Applying P/E of 13.4, this company is fairly valued at $ 6.34. Currently, earning per share comes in at $ 1.00 per share. If you look at the stock trading at $ 6.00, you may think that it is cheap since it is trading at a P/E of 6. But, if you expect it to have negative growth of negative ten percent for the next five years, this P/E of 6 doesn't sound cheap after all.

If you expect negative growth, even a seemingly low P/E ratio does not translate into profitable investment. The industry I can think of right now is the auto industry. The US auto maker has been struggling for years to compete with its Japanese counterparts. Investors has priced in negative growth for quite sometime now. If you look at say GM or Ford, they have been trading at a seemingly low P/E ratio for several years. Until this year, both of them has been able to post profits. This year, they are all expected to post a loss. The moral of the story here is to watch out for company with low P/E ratio.

About The Author

Hari Wibowo

Want more investing ideas?
The Truth About Printer Paper

by: Bill Smith

Contrary to popular belief, the quality of your printer paper can have a serious impact on the quality of your printer output. You can buy the best printer in the word ? feed it lousy paper, and you?ll get lousy results. Most consumers just purchase the cheapest paper they can find at Staples, which is normally just copier paper. Sure, this will work fine for text print outs. Try printing images or pictures on this paper. ? not very crisp, right?

Image quality on your print outs is largely dependent on the brightness of the paper and the absorption capacity of the paper. Smooth paper is best for brightness since it reflects the most light directly back to the eye. Coarser paper tends to diffuse light in all over, really weakening the amount of light that makes it back to your eye. The end result is an image with less brilliance.

The second factor that plays a huge role in paper quality is the absorption potential of the paper. With cheap paper you tend to see ink bleed or run. Rather than nice tight graphics, you get blurred images. Coated paper is really the way to go here. It prevents the paper from absorbing the ink. For true, high resolution photo printing, coated paper is required. You?d be surprised how much the paper actually has to do with the end resolution of the print out. The right paper can sometime double the resolution of your print out.

About The Author

Bill Smith is an expert on printers.
